Daimler Truck Australia Pacific is excited to be part of the Victorian Transport Association’s landmark Victorian Electric Heavy Vehicle Trial that was launched recently.
The Hon. Melissa Horne, Victorian Minister for Ports and Freight, and Roads and Road Safety, officially launched the initiative at Daimler Trucks Laverton with key VTA leadership, including CEO Peter Anderson.
Daimler Truck Australia Pacific Sales, Marketing and Operations Vice President, Andrew Assimo, was on hand to celebrate the launch of the important trial that features the class-leading Mercedes-Benz eActros and Fuso eCanter electric trucks.
A series of Victorian-based operators who will put the all-electric trucks to work gathering real world experience and seeing the benefits first-hand.
Mr Assimo says Daimler Truck ius excited to be part of the VTA initiative.
“We applaud the VTA’s vision to make this trial happen and help more customers experience these electric workhorses,” he says.
“They will be able to experience practical sustainability with the best electric trucks you can buy.”
The first company to participate in the trial is Melbourne’s Cahill Transport and its eActros evaluation vehicle is already making a positive impression with its practicality and ease of use.
The company said it is sending the eActros further each day with no issues; and that the driver is ‘loving’ it.
